[2 Samuel 5:7] - Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion, the City of David.[1 Kings 8:1] - Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the LORD's covenant from Zion, the City of David.[2 Kings 19:21] - This is the word that the LORD has spoken against him: "'The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises you and mocks you. The Daughter of Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.[1 Chronicles 11:5] - said to David, "You will not get in here." Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion, the City of David.[2 Chronicles 5:2] - Then Solomon summoned to Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the LORD's covenant from Zion, the City of David.[Isaiah 1:8] - The Daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a city under siege.[Isaiah 1:27] - Zion will be redeemed with justice, her penitent ones with righteousness.[Isaiah 2:3] - Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.[Isaiah 3:16] - The LORD says, "The women of Zion are haughty, walking along with outstretched necks, flirting with their eyes, tripping along with mincing steps, with ornaments jingling on their ankles.[Isaiah 3:17] - Therefore the Lord will bring sores on the heads of the women of Zion; the LORD will make their scalps bald."[Isaiah 4:3] - Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.[Isaiah 4:4] - The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.[Isaiah 10:24] - Therefore, this is what the Lord, the LORD Almighty, says: "O my people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.[Isaiah 10:32] - This day they will halt at Nob; they will shake their fist at the mount of the Daughter of Zion, at the hill of Jerusalem.[Isaiah 12:6] - Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."[Isaiah 14:32] - What answer shall be given to the envoys of that nation? "The LORD has established Zion, and in her his afflicted people will find refuge."[Isaiah 16:1] - Send lambs as tribute to the ruler of the land, from Sela, across the desert, to the mount of the Daughter of Zion.[Isaiah 28:16] - So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.[Isaiah 30:19] - O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you.[Isaiah 31:9] - Their stronghold will fall because of terror; at sight of the battle standard their commanders will panic," declares the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, whose furnace is in Jerusalem.[Isaiah 33:5] - The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.[Isaiah 33:6] - He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.[Isaiah 33:14] - The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless: "Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?"[Isaiah 33:20] - Look upon Zion, the city of our festivals; your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken.[Isaiah 34:8] - For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion's cause.[Isaiah 35:10] - and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.[Isaiah 37:22] - this is the word the LORD has spoken against him: "The Virgin Daughter of Zion despises and mocks you. The Daughter of Jerusalem tosses her head as you flee.[Isaiah 40:9] - You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, "Here is your God!"[Isaiah 41:27] - I was the first to tell Zion, 'Look, here they are!' I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good tidings.[Isaiah 46:13] - I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed. I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.[Isaiah 49:14] - But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me."[Isaiah 51:3] - The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.[Isaiah 51:11] - The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.[Isaiah 51:16] - I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand- I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, 'You are my people.'"[Isaiah 52:1] - Awake, awake, O Zion, clothe yourself with strength. Put on your garments of splendor, O Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.[Isaiah 52:2] - Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, O captive Daughter of Zion.[Isaiah 52:7] - How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"[Isaiah 52:8] - Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the LORD returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes.[Isaiah 59:20] - "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the LORD.[Isaiah 60:14] - The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.[Isaiah 61:3] - and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.[Isaiah 62:1] - For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.[Isaiah 62:11] - The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.'"[Isaiah 64:10] - Your sacred cities have become a desert; even Zion is a desert, Jerusalem a desolation.[Isaiah 66:8] - Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.[Jeremiah 3:14] - "Return, faithless people," declares the LORD, "for I am your husband. I will choose you-one from a town and two from a clan-and bring you to Zion.[Jeremiah 4:6] - Raise the signal to go to Zion! Flee for safety without delay! For I am bringing disaster from the north, even terrible destruction."[Jeremiah 4:31] - I hear a cry as of a woman in labor, a groan as of one bearing her first child- the cry of the Daughter of Zion gasping for breath, stretching out her hands and saying, "Alas! I am fainting; my life is given over to murderers."[Jeremiah 6:2] - I will destroy the Daughter of Zion, so beautiful and delicate.[Jeremiah 6:23] - They are armed with bow and spear; they are cruel and show no mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their horses; they come like men in battle formation to attack you, O Daughter of Zion."[Jeremiah 8:19] - Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: "Is the LORD not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?Why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?"[Jeremiah 9:19] - The sound of wailing is heard from Zion: 'How ruined we are! How great is our shame! We must leave our land because our houses are in ruins.'"[Jeremiah 14:19] - Have you rejected Judah completely? Do you despise Zion? Why have you afflicted us so that we cannot be healed? We hoped for peace but no good has come, for a time of healing but there is only terror.[Jeremiah 26:18] - "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: "'Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.'[Jeremiah 30:17] - But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the LORD, 'because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.'[Jeremiah 31:6] - There will be a day when watchmen cry out on the hills of Ephraim, 'Come, let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God.'"[Jeremiah 31:12] - They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD - the grain, the new wine and the oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.[Jeremiah 50:5] - They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.[Jeremiah 50:28] - Listen to the fugitives and refugees from Babylon declaring in Zion how the LORD our God has taken vengeance, vengeance for his temple.[Jeremiah 51:10] - "'The LORD has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the LORD our God has done.'[Jeremiah 51:24] - "Before your eyes I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wrong they have done in Zion," declares the LORD.[Jeremiah 51:35] - May the violence done to our flesh be upon Babylon," say the inhabitants of Zion. "May our blood be on those who live in Babylonia," says Jerusalem.[Lamentations 1:4] - The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gateways are desolate, her priests groan, her maidens grieve, and she is in bitter anguish.[Lamentations 1:6] - All the splendor has departed from the Daughter of Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; in weakness they have fled before the pursuer.[Lamentations 1:17] - Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.[Lamentations 2:1] - How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger! He has hurled down the splendor of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.[Lamentations 2:4] - Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.[Lamentations 2:6] - He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting. The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.[Lamentations 2:8] - The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion. He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying. He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.[Lamentations 2:10] - The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth. The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.[Lamentations 2:13] - What can I say for you? With what can I compare you, O Daughter of Jerusalem? To what can I liken you, that I may comfort you, O Virgin Daughter of Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?[Lamentations 2:18] - The hearts of the people cry out to the Lord. O wall of the Daughter of Zion, let your tears flow like a river day and night; give yourself no relief, your eyes no rest.[Lamentations 4:2] - How the precious sons of Zion, once worth their weight in gold, are now considered as pots of clay, the work of a potter's hands![Lamentations 4:11] - The LORD has given full vent to his wrath; he has poured out his fierce anger. He kindled a fire in Zion that consumed her foundations.[Lamentations 4:22] - O Daughter of Zion, your punishment will end; he will not prolong your exile. But, O Daughter of Edom, he will punish your sin and expose your wickedness.[Lamentations 5:11] - Women have been ravished in Zion, and virgins in the towns of Judah.[Joel 2:1] - Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand-[Joel 2:15] - Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly.[Joel 2:23] - Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.[Joel 3:16] - The LORD will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will tremble. But the LORD will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.[Joel 3:17] - "Then you will know that I, the LORD your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her.[Joel 3:21] - Their bloodguilt, which I have not pardoned, I will pardon." The LORD dwells in Zion![Amos 1:2] - He said: "The LORD roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds dry up, and the top of Carmel withers."[Amos 6:1] - Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria, you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come![Micah 1:13] - You who live in Lachish, harness the team to the chariot. You were the beginning of sin to the Daughter of Zion, for the transgressions of Israel were found in you.[Micah 3:10] - who build Zion with bloodshed, and Jerusalem with wickedness.[Micah 3:12] - Therefore because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.[Micah 4:2] - Many nations will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.[Micah 4:8] - As for you, O watchtower of the flock, O stronghold of the Daughter of Zion, the former dominion will be restored to you; kingship will come to the Daughter of Jerusalem."[Micah 4:10] - Writhe in agony, O Daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the LORD will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.[Micah 4:11] - But now many nations are gathered against you. They say, "Let her be defiled, let our eyes gloat over Zion!"[Micah 4:13] - "Rise and thresh, O Daughter of Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hoofs of bronze and you will break to pieces many nations." You will devote their ill-gotten gains to the LORD, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.[Zephaniah 3:14] - Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem![Zephaniah 3:16] - On that day they will say to Jerusalem, "Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands hang limp.[Zechariah 1:14] - Then the angel who was speaking to me said, "Proclaim this word: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion,[Zechariah 1:17] - "Proclaim further: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.'"[Zechariah 2:7] - "Come, O Zion! Escape, you who live in the Daughter of Babylon!"[Zechariah 2:10] - "Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the LORD.[Zechariah 8:2] - This is what the LORD Almighty says: "I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her."[Zechariah 8:3] - This is what the LORD says: "I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain."[Zechariah 9:9] - Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.[Zechariah 9:13] - I will bend Judah as I bend my bow and fill it with Ephraim. I will rouse your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and make you like a warrior's sword.[Matthew 21:5] - "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"[John 12:15] - "Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt."[Romans 9:33] - As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."[Romans 11:26] - And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.[1 Peter 2:6] - For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
